Still life with keg is an improvisational work caught between celebration and trauma. Sub-titled “under blue cup” after art critic Rosalind Krauss’s 2011 book that references a blue cup’s role in regaining cognitive ability post-trauma. Still life with keg is in frozen in the moment between trauma and celebration. This work epitomizes the challenge to make purpose driven work in the context of high art fashionability.
