This 10 foot obelisk is cantilevered 22 inches on the wall at the top of its base. 22inches is the highest standard height for common seating furniture. Seat of Democracy represents the reorientation of democracy from a vertical hierarchy to a horizontal power structure. This proposes a political and economic model that requires robust political and economic strength sufficient to equally supporting its citizenry from great to small. With proper design and engineering the obelisk and its represented ideal can suspend its cantilevered weight without fatigue from its lateral apex to the base.
